Great Lakes Net now offers Wireless
Broadband currently in the Clare, Farwell and Coleman. Our range is about
6.5 miles from the center of each City.
Wireless broadband service from Great Lakes Net offers our
customers an always-on high speed internet connection to your home -
unlike DSL, Cable or dialup, all service is provided by Great Lakes Net
with no extra charges for a phone circuit or Digital Cable. We provide you
with the equipment, service, and support for wireless access.
This service isn't "wireless" in the same sense that your cell
phone is. This is a fixed connection that is installed at your home or
office with either an antenna mounted outside or a small antenna placed
inside the building. This is more like getting DSL or a cable modem, but
instead of wires, you have an antenna installed.
We are currently offering this service in several speeds: up to one
megabit per second. In contrast to a regular dialup connection, wireless
broadband is up to 18 to 54 times faster than a v.90 56k modem. Unlike DSL
and cable modems, the speed offered is the same for upload and download.
Note: speeds may vary depending on distance, weather conditions, foliage
and other factors.
If external installation and construction is required to install
the antenna on your house or business, additional charges will apply.
These charges will be quoted on an individual case basis.
When comparing this pricing to DSL or Cable, for example, remember
that the monthly prices are all-inclusive. There is no circuit to purchase
from a telephone company, Digital Cable to subscribe to from the cable
company, or from any other company. Great Lakes Net is the only company
involved in providing this service.
It is important to remember that this service requires either a
small dish be mounted on the exterior of your house or a small device to
be placed inside of the residence.

These plans require a Minimum 1
year contract for residential and a 1 to 3 year contract for business
accounts. There are no refunds provided for early termination and early
termination fees may apply.
Early termination of any contract will be liable for
half the monthly fee for the remainder of the contract.
Any other mounting hardware that may be needed for customers, ie:
television tower or any other type of tower is the responsibility of the
customer.
